The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) has announced that giant pandas Yang Guang and Tian Tian will return to China in early December 2023., After almost twelve years at Edinburgh Zoo, the wildlife conservation charity said the giant pandas have had an “incredible impact” by connecting millions of people with nature., Yang Guang and Tian Tian arrived in Scotland in December 2011 as part of a ten-year agreement between RZSS and the China Wildlife Conservation Association, which was later extended by two years. Iz Zoološkog vrta, paradoksalno, ističu da su pande imale nevjerojatan utjecaj na milijune ljudi, inspirirajući ih da se brinu o prirodi.

Odlične vijesti stižu iz Škotske. Dvije velike pande iz zoološkog vrsta u Edinburghu konačno će se vratiti u Kinu.

Kako navodi BBC, riječ je o završetku desetogodišnje “posudbe” koja je produljena za dvije godine zbog pandemije Covida-19.

Znanstveni doprinos 

Kraljevsko zoološko društvo Škotske (RZSS), koje vodi zoološki vrt u Edinburghu, Kini je godišnje plaćalo 750.000 funti za pande.

Iz Zoološkog vrta, paradoksalno, ističu da su pande imale nevjerojatan utjecaj na milijune ljudi, inspirirajući ih da se brinu o prirodi.

“Kroz znanstvena istraživanja zajedno sa Sveučilištem u Edinburghu, također smo dali značajan doprinos našem razumijevanju velikih pandi, što će biti od stvarne koristi naporima da se zaštiti ova nevjerojatna vrsta u Kini”, priopćili su.

Zoološki vrt i veterinari iz Kine napravili su osam neuspješnih pokušaja umjetne oplodnje između ovog para. Posljednji pokušaj bio je 2021. godine.
